Cereals are also defined as breakfast foods made from toasted grains, typically consumed with milk or yogurt. Cereals are small, hard, dry seeds, such as wheat, corn, or rye, primarily grown for human or animal consumption. Breakfast cereals are processed from the edible components of these grains and are nutritious, often serving as a breakfast staple. Different cereal production equipment has led to a wide variety of cereal products on the market, including granola and muesli. These healthy and convenient snack bars are growing in popularity due to their nutritional value and convenience.
Corn Flakes, Cereals, and Puffs
The Corn Flake Extruder uses various corn and grain ingredients, such as rice, millet, black rice, and buckwheat, as raw materials. The vitamins, proteins, and minerals are blended, extruded, and formed into various shapes.

1. Raw Material Mixing: Corn, flour, rice, and other raw materials are mixed uniformly in a powder mixer.
2. Extrusion: A twin-screw extruder is used to perform high-temperature extrusion, expanding the dough and forming it into a specific shape.
3. Filling Injection: A dedicated filling machine is used to inject fillings such as chocolate and syrup into the expanded dough to create a sandwich structure.
4. Forming and Cutting: The product is cut into round and square bars using a forming and cutting machine.
5. Baking and Seasoning: The product is baked in a multi-layer continuous oven and seasoned with oil/sugar sprayers.
6. Cooling and Packaging: After automatic cooling, the product is sealed and packaged to complete the product.
Directly expanded breakfast cereals are cut on the extruder die shaft into shapes such as rings, letters, balls, curls, squares, stars, petals, and donuts.
Engraved dies can create more complex shapes, including child-friendly faces or animals. Larger creations, such as bran bars or hollow pillows, can also be created, while varying the texture type provides different surface textures.
Color variations of extruded breakfast cereals can be made on the fly, for example, to provide mixed fruit colors in a single package.
Our twin-screw extruders cook the raw materials using a combination of heat, mechanical shear, and moisture. This equipment offers low cost of ownership and can produce a wide range of products with simple product changeovers.
